Fedora Rawhide bug for HP Touchsmart tx2z

as Default installation is not working for fedora
Rawhide installation (as posted previous post).

Finally going by proper way, I started to search
bug for this laptop, so there was two basic
bug, which helped to file a new bug
1) Linuxwacom need to Update

and
2) Not specific bug for HP wacom, but good detail

2nd Bug helped me a lot to File bug. Hope that
Fedora Developer will help me (not like Novell guy)
to complete the support for this. But all is the future.

HP Tx2z Bug filed here (HP Tx2z Touch screen is not automatically work)

Let me try BlackBerry once...

Finally Got BlackBerry Set (8520) after various
attempt Failed to fix Nokia 97. It is latest phone
with No 3G, but all other Features like
Music Player
GPRS/EDGE/Wi-fi
and other BlackBerry Feature, for which it is known far.

it is only for Airtel in India, and I have Airtel sim,
so tried, Phone is working, but Email and Messenger
Is not working, because it is need to active with Service
Provider and Sat/Sun it is not possible.

I liked the Trackpad Navigation and Multimedia Feature,
also Security, (other phone has, but not enabled by
default, but it has).

Place Call without Unlock the Screen is another feature
I liked.

you can get your (user) information on left side of screen
very easily and looks good

Keypad is quite Good, but surely you can't compare it with
Nokia N97.
Download application and without Email Setup, it seems
empty, Will update later how it behaves after getting it
activied with Aitel,

Only One Theme is provided (it is quite good), and Camera
without Flash are few more things, which I like to improve,
but this lowest cost handset, so what else can expect:)

Speed of handset (for opening and call support) is quite good
as compared to Buggy Nokia N97. Some timeN97 crash,
during call hanged (1 out of 9-10) (I have updated v12 Software,
but still problems). Nokia Service centre asked me
to Fresh install (or Flash content), but how can I do that, not
want to loose any data. I moved to BlackBerry and asked
myself 'let me try blackberry once..'

Opensuse/Novell - say 'no' to update Sax2 for Tx2z

After trying to install Fedora Rawhide,
which finally work for touch interface,

I tried to install opensuse 11.2 MileStone 7
on HP Tx2z (AMD Laptop), which failed to
detect Touch Interface, although
installation was quite easy and working
most of thing.

Sax2 failed to detect tough, even I tried to
configure myself, but failed with all tries.

Put a bug for OpenSUSE, it goes to
Novell finally. I got some quick replay
as expected, but finally refused with

"You're right. SaX2 does not support the configuration of it
and this won't change unless we receive a request by HP to do so + the appropriate hardware for testing. WONTFIX."

This not big thing if proprietary, but open-source,
this should not happen if people can help to test it.

guy provided a link for Ubuntu to try it.
Thanks for link, but not working at all:-)

HP Touch Tx2z and Fedora ...

Finally I got AMD Based Laptop and it is
Touch Screen Display, which is quite good
for Windows Vista (Pre-installed), but Windows
Vista was too slow to use (most of Junk
Softwares, thanks to HP).
Finally I installed Windows 7 RC and Speed is quite good,
but not equal to Dell Studio XPS 13 with Intel
Core 2 Duo P8600 (2.4Ghz) (HP has DDR2
and Dell has DDR3) even difference is
not big enough to feel in first look.

My Final Target to get install Fedora or Linux
on HP tx2z, first I tried Fedora 11 (x86_64), which
install quite easy and during installation pointer
moved by touching the screen, but Click
was not working.
Fedora 11 installed, pointer moved, but
Click was not working. Finally Upgrade
that to rawhide (Fedora 12 pre-release),
but that is NOT Working at all. Even wonder
was that there was no /etc/X11/xorg.conf file
at all. But GUI was working. with
system-config-display, xorg.conf file generated
To Fix the issue, I used Ubuntu Website,
where they fixed Xorg.conf file to fix issue
Following Steps I used for it

1) /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/20thirdparty/10-wacom.fdi

wacom
stylus

Changed to

2) N-trig Symlink
edit (create New file)

/etc/udev/rules.d/90-n-trig.rules
and add following line

KERNEL=="event*", ATTRS{idVendor}=="1b96", ATTRS{idProduct}=="0001", SYMLINK="input/n-trig"

3) Finally my 'xorg.conf' (/etc/X11/xorg.conf) is here
------
[ahawk@ahawk ~]$ cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "stylus"

# Developed with Ayuthia (using Rafi Rubin's Wacom sections as a starting point).
----------
(ya, I have not developed, but all step are from Ubuntu site, for Detail
instruction you can visit here)

Just for Information: I have Windows 7 Firmware Updated.

Next testing I would like to go for OpenSUSE, which has
ability to configure Touch Screen Dispaly within YaST, while
Fedora Has Nothing for try.

Fingerprint reader I failed to Configure in Windows 7 as well
as in Fedora Rawhide. Work continue if get some fix.

Linux (fedora) - HDMI Port

I purchased HDMI Cable, but not very
sure about it whether it will work or not
with my LCD TV. Cost was very ok
799/- Rs.

Windows Vista working very nice,
no problem.

with Fedora 11, It was not detected,
I have Nvidia chipset on Laptop and Desktop
with HDMI port on both.
So 'nouveau' driver is not able to work.
Finally install 'kmod-nvidia' and run
nvidia-setting, it works well. Detected
proper resolution and you can set as
primary Display.

for Audio (with HDMI cable), go to
Speaker Icon in notification icon.
ICON->Sound Pref->Hardware
-Profile->Output Digital Stereo (HDMI) and
that is it. It is working...

Video, Voice and All fine with Fedora.

Windows Vista Home Prem and Langpack – compare to Linux

Even I found Punjabi (Indian) Langpack for Windows Vista after a year of its release, but finally failed to install it . Windows Don’t know

how to install it (while run first time), later it use ‘Language pack installer’ to install, while using that, it showing Dialog Window

“Select Languages to install” and not able to select LIP_pa-IN.mlc,

even I extract mlc pack, then also it is not working.

What was issue?

64-bit, you can’t  install it on Windows 64-bit version at all

Message is below on Website

This website is too bad that I can’t change webpage in English proper, while I select “English” and press Change, it is showing

me following

to text is in Sinhala, instead of English.

So what Microsoft is doing, I don’t know. and Why I m not

using my Language if I have 64-bit version?

What is MUI?

Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUI)->MUIs require a license to be used and are only available with Windows Vista Ultimate and Windows Vista Enterprise.

What is LIP?

LIPs (Language Interface Pack)  are freely available to download

LIPs require at least one parent language

Following South Asian/Indian Languages are available:

Assamese

Bengali (India)

Bengali (Bangladesh

Gujarati

Hindi

Kannada

Konkani

Malayalam

Marathi

Nepali

Oriya

Punjabi

Sinhala

Tamil

Telugu

Thai

Urdu

--------

Good Languages list, but it is hard to use and very limited

as only 32-bit user can use, then also, it is not completed.

So, Windows is no where to compare with Language Support

for Indian Language with Linux. Compare to Windows

(for Indian Language Support):

1) Installer in Indian Language (Complete Translation)

2) Default you will get MUI with all Linux. You can

change language anytime

3) Language Installation and remove is very easy. With

Single install Keyboard layout, translation available.
